About Duval:
Duval PK-8 began as a high school constructed in 1914, but closed in 2007 as Duval, Guyan Valley, Harts, and Hamlin consolidated into Lincoln County High School. The school was reborn into Duval PK8. Unfortunately, the building was deemed unsafe and closed in 2021. Duval PK8 staff and students relocated to the central office in Hamlin, WV, where they will remain until the new building opens during the 2026-2027 school year.
Duval currently serves over 300 students, ranging from grades PK-8th.
In 2024, Duval won the county level math field day competition at the middle school level.
